Biosafety Committee
The joint BSC between the La Paz University Hospital (HULP) and the Foundation for Biomedical Research of La Paz University Hospital (FIBHULP) will serve as an advisory body for managing biological risk in the healthcare and biomedical research fields. This expert committee will provide both institutions' management with information, informed opinions, and technical advice on biosafety.

Its objectives are:
  • To collaborate with the responsible organisations to ensure that all activities involving biological materials are carried out in compliance with local and national regulations, as well as any other applicable legislation.
  • To work with occupational risk prevention services in implementing measures to reduce the risk of potential biological threats to workers, the community, and the environment.
  • To assist and advise researchers and healthcare staff at HULP and FIBHULP on incorporating good safety practices into all activities involving biological materials.
